"Catch the Reading Bug" The"kick off" to the Summer Reading Program will be on June 10, 2008 at the Harry M. Caudill Memorial Library. The Madcap Puppets will perform "The Legend of the Little Wolf", at 6:30 PM. This is a family affair and get ready to be mesmerized by lifesized puppets and help Little Wolf get rid of of an evil giant who has terrorized a little village. On June 19, Tammy Elza will bring all her animals to the library and children will experience animals in therir natural habitat. On going event is a Scholastic Book Sale at the Harry M. Caudill Memorial Library that will run until June 13. Don't miss out on these programs. The weekly schedule of the programs at the various libraries starting on June 10 is: Harry M. Caudill Memorial Library: will host a program for preschoolers to age 10 every Thursdays at 1:30 AM. Blackey Public Library: Every Thursdays at 2:00PM. Jenkins Public Library: Thursdays at 11:00PM Lillian Webb Memorial Library: in Neon Thursdays at 1:00PM Youth ages 11 and above: Harry M. Caudill Memorial Library: Fridays at 3:00PM Stories, arts and crafts, contests, plays, songs and plays will be offered at the libraries and meals will be provided by LKLP.
We are launching SUMMER READING PROGRAM 2007: "GET A CLUE AT YOUR LIBRARY" at all the libraries! This year's Summer Reading Program is going to be an exciting one! If you love mysteries, detective, explorations and supernaturals stories, then the libraries are the cool places to hang out in this summer. Beginning on May 29 until June 7, we are signing up youngsters from ages 0 to 18 to participate in our programs. Our kick off "party" will be on June 7 at 6:30 PM with a performance by the Madcap Puppets, a renowned theater show from Cincinnati, Ohio. The puppet show of "Cart Tales" is a story of an Emperor who will give half of his kingdom to whoever will give the greatesr gift to his son. This show will surely entertain audiences of all ages. Nancy Allen, a children's books author will present an interactive book talk to the audience at 6:00 PM. Her presentation will surely fire up children to do more reading. The young adults will enjoy and learn from first hand experiences of our presenters when they show case: CSI: Letcher, and True Crime Stories. This year's young adults theme is : " YNK" (You Never Know). Scholastic Books will be sold to the public at discount prices beginning on May 29 at the Harry M. Caudill Memorial Library. Every week thereafter, all the libraries will have programs, music, games and prizes for its participants. Click here for our schedules: Harry M.
