Judge Executive Jim Ward sworn in Carl Banks.
Carl Banks is a new member of the Board. He was appointed by the Fiscal Court on October 2009.
Carl's experience as a finance officer of The Mountain Comprehensive Health System and a past teacher of the Letcher County Educational System will benefit the Library Board.
The Letcher County Public Library District is governed by the Board of Trustees.
The first term consists of four years and is renewable for another second four year term.
The Letcher County Board of Trustess meet every third Monday of the month at 11:30AM..

Ms
Jo Combs was appointed new Board Member on May 24, 2005. She replaced
Mark Stone who has moved to Hazard, Kentucky. Ms Combs has served in the
board from 1989 to 1997. Ms Combs worked at the Community Trust for many
years and her banking experience will greatly benefit the library system.
Welcome aboard, Mahala Frazier. Mrs. Frazier was approved by the Fiscal Court on September 2005. Mrs Frazier was a teacher at the West Whitesburg Elementary School and has recently retired. She has an extensive teaching and reading background and her experiences will be a big asset to the Board of Trustees.
In May 2006, Margaret Lewis was appointed by the Fiscal Court to the Board of Trustees. Ms Lewis is a retired teacher and a resident of Jenkins. Ms. Lewis will enrich the Board by sharing her experiences as a teacher and as a musician. Her background in the arts will impact the Letcher County Public Libraries. Welcome aboard, Margaret!
